Why Provide Employee Flu Vaccinations?

Providing employee flu vaccinations offers several benefits for both employers and employees:

Reduced Absenteeism: Flu vaccinations can significantly reduce the number of employees who become sick and need to take time off work. This leads to fewer sick days, which can help maintain productivity levels and prevent disruptions in workflow.

Improved Productivity: When employees are healthy and free from illness, they are more likely to perform at their best. By reducing the spread of the flu in the workplace, employers can maintain higher levels of productivity throughout flu season.

Enhanced Workplace Morale: Providing flu vaccinations demonstrates a commitment to the health and well-being of employees. This can boost morale and create a positive work environment, as employees are more likely to feel valued and cared for by their employer.

Reduced Risk of Spreading the Flu: By vaccinating employees, employers can help create a safer workplace environment with fewer opportunities for the flu virus to spread among colleagues. This not only protects the individual but also the broader workforce.

Protecting Vulnerable Individuals: Some employees may be more vulnerable to severe complications from the flu, such as pregnant individuals, people over 65, and those with underlying health conditions. Offering vaccinations helps protect these individuals from potential harm.

Compliance with Health and Safety Standards: Providing flu vaccinations aligns with best practices in workplace health and safety. It demonstrates a commitment to creating a safe and healthy work environment, which can lead to regulatory compliance and legal protections.

Reduced Impact on the NHS: By vaccinating employees, employers contribute to reducing the burden on healthcare facilities and resources during flu season. This is especially important during times of high demand, such as during a pandemic.

Community Health Benefits: Encouraging flu vaccinations not only protects employees but also contributes to community-wide immunity. This helps prevent the spread of the flu in the broader population, especially to individuals who may be more susceptible to severe complications.
Overall, providing employee flu vaccinations is a proactive and responsible approach to protecting the health and well-being of the workforce. It offers tangible benefits for both employers and employees, contributing to a safer, more productive, and healthier workplace environment.

Employee Vaccine: What Can We Expect On The Day?

Understandably, you'll want to know exactly what is happening on the day when we come to vaccinate your employees. Be reassured that we conduct our vaccinations with minimal fuss and disruption to your business.

Our nurses will arrive 15 minutes before the approved start time to set up to be shown toilets and fire escapes and other health and safety matters. They will have all the equipment that they need.

The vaccinations will begin promptly at the scheduled time. In order for this to go smoothly, we recommend that your HR team organise employees by department or team, or however you would like to structure it, so that employees can be vaccinated in a timely manner. It won’t work if every employee in the business comes to stand in the queue all at once.

The qualified nurse will ask a few medical questions to ensure the member of staff is suitable to have a flu jab. The nurse will also answer any questions the employee may have.

At the end of the day the nurse will pack up the flu box, seal it. The flu box will then be collected the next working day, to be returned to the Flu Xpress Ltd Flu Team.

For employees who are not able to make the employee flu vaccine (or for remote workers) on the date scheduled, we provide flu vouchers so that they can still get their vaccine. The flu vouchers are redeemable in over 3,500 stores across the UK.
